Seen These Guys? They Allegedly Robbed Several 7-Elevens in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, CA - Santa Ana police Wednesday released surveillance video images of suspects involved in a rash of 7-Eleven store robberies in Santa Ana.

One suspect -- 25-year-old Miguel Baltazar Ledesma -- was arrested Sunday, posted bail by Monday and was released, according to jail records.

Investigators said they believe three more men are involved in the robberies that started on April 9, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

One suspect is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds and another is 5-foot-8 and weighs about 200 pounds, Bertagna said.

A fourth man may be part of the crew as a lookout, Bertagna said.

Of the 23 7-Eleven stores in Santa Ana, five have been hit by the robbers, including the one at 2112 S. Main St., which has been held up four times, Bertagna said.

The others are at 818 W. 17th St., which has been robbed three times; 902 W. Edinger Ave., which was robbed twice; and 1441 W. MacArthur Blvd. and 2910 S. Main St., both of which were hit once.

The most recent robbery was Tuesday, Bertagna said.

The robbers strike at varying times of the day and take cash in the holdups, Bertagna said.

Two suspects rob the store while another is a lookout, Bertagna said.

Ledesma was caught because a clerk recognized him from an internal bulletin sent from the company, Bertagna said. The clerk was on the phone with police when the robber was trying to get his attention, Bertagna said.

The suspect was arrested a short time later, Bertagna said.
