Stabbing Suspected Tracked to Fountain Valley, Arrested: Police

Police from Riverside County say the man was arrested at a local house this week.

WILDOMAR, CA- A Rainbow man is facing attempted murder and burglary charges after allegedly breaking into a Wildomar home, and stabbing a man multiple times, police report.

According to Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Brosche, the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 34000 block of Orange Street.

"Officers learned a male subject had been stabbed multiple times in his residence," the sergeant said in a news release. "The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery for his wounds."

According to Brosche, the suspect knows the man who attacked him, and identified him as 35-year-old John Luis Vrab. Within seven hours of the stabbing, police had tracked the man down and arrested him, according to jail booking records.

"Vrab was located at a residence in Fountain Valley, where he was subsequently arrested," Brosche said.

He was booked into the Murrieta jail for felony charges of burglary and attempted murder, records indicated. Bail was set at $1 million.

Police did not disclose how the two men know each other or what may have prompted the alleged violent confrontation.

The victim, whose identity was not released, is expected to survive, police said.
