Teen Stabbed Near O.C. Elementary School
Police suspect the Westminster attack was possibly gang-related.

WESTMINSTER, CA--- A 17-year-old boy was stabbed this afternoon near an elementary school in a possibly gang-related attack, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening, a police commander said.
The 1:35 p.m. stabbing occurred at Edwards Street and Trask Avenue, which is near Finley Elementary, but there is no indication the attack had anything to do with the school, Westminster police Cmdr. Cameron Knauerhaze said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was stabbed once, according to Knauerhaze.

The boy was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange.
According to reports from the scene, the teen was on his way to pick up a relative at the school when he was ambushed by several suspects, who ran off afterward.

The victim managed to make his way into the school office to summon help.
