Thwarted Gas Station Robber Makes Off with Chewing Gum

Fountain Valley Police are looking for an easily-thwarted gas station robber, who attempted to hold up an Edinger Arco station but settled on some chewing gum and a lighter after the clerk took a step away from the knife-wielding robber.

According to this succinct Fountain Valley Police press release, “The suspect brandished a small folding knife and demanded cash from the clerk. The clerk stepped backwards at which time the suspect fled with a pack of chewing gum and a butane lighter. No vehicle was seen.
