Tree Pickup Scheduled for FV Residents

Retired Christmas trees and other holiday discards can be recycled by Rainbow Disposal.

Enjoy the sight and scent of holiday greenery, but plan ahead for the inevitable removal of the festive branches, trees and other ornamental plants. Trash collection schedules in Fountain Valley will remain intact throughout the holidays, so be sure to follow a few simple steps to ensure that your items depart as planned:

1.       Place trees for pickup on residential curbs Jan. 3-21.

2.      If the tree is taller than six feet, cut it into smaller sections.

3.      Be sure that all ornaments, lights and stands are removed.

4.      In areas where blue metal dumpsters are available, place trees inside them.

5.      Do not pile trees or other items on top or beside the dumpsters.

6.      Cardboard boxes will be recycled if they are flattened and placed beside trash containers.

Trees disposed after Jan. 21 should be placed in green disposal containers, or scheduled for oversize special pickup.
