Woman Struck, Killed Near 405 Freeway Onramp In Fountain Valley

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — The body of a woman was discovered near an intersection in Fountain Valley after midnight, police said early Monday. Police are seeking more information

Authorities were investigating the area of Warner Avenue west of Bushard Street, near the 405 onramp, the Orange County coroner's office said.

"She was apparently hit by a motorist who fled the scene," Fountain Valley police Sgt. J. Pratt said.

According to a witness, 7-Eleven employee told CBS2 that she and another co-worker were both outside when they heard a loud noise. They immediately knew there had been an accident, they told reporters.

Police do not have a description of the suspect or the vehicle. Investigators are hoping to obtain security camera footage from nearby businesses.

Investigators planned to view surveillance video in the area in the search for leads, she said.
