2 Alleged Car Thieves Arrested In Union City

The pair were arrested Christmas week in separate incidents.

UNION CITY, CA — Two alleged car thieves were arrested in Union City last week, including one on Christmas day.

Police arrested 46-year-old Scott Rabello, a Union City resident, on Dec 25. A vehicle reported stolen out of Merced County was spotted by a patrol officer was checking the area of Dalton Way and Syracuse Avenue.

On Dec. 30, 59-year-old Elbert Armstrong of Hayward was arrested near the border of Union City and Hayward. Police report that in addition to the vehicle stolen from Hayward, Armstrong had 3 shaved keys, methamphetamine, and credit cards that did not belong to him. He was arrested on charges of vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, and the misappropriation of lost property.
