2 Cars Fatally Strike Pedestrian In San Jose

A pedestrian crossing Santa Teresa Boulevard in San Jose was struck and killed by two vehicles on Saturday evening, authorities announced.

SAN JOSE, CA — A pedestrian crossing Santa Teresa Boulevard in San Jose was struck and killed by two vehicles on Saturday evening, authorities announced.

At 8:44 p.m., San Jose Police Department officers responded to Santa Teresa Boulevard near Kiowa Circle on reports of a hit pedestrian.

According to police, a man was crossing the boulevard in the northbound direction, not in a crosswalk, when a 1997 Nissan sports utility car hit him. A second vehicle, a Chevrolet truck, hit the pedestrian afterwards.

The Nissan driver remained at the scene, and the truck fled, said police.

First responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene due to major injuries.

The man's identity will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office after notifying next of kin. Anyone with more information is urged to contact the San Jose Police Department's Traffic Investigations Unit at 4461@sanjoseca.gov or 408-277-4654.
