3 Accused Auto Burglars Arrested, Fremont Police Say
Police caught up with the suspects after a witness in the Costco parking lot called police and gave them an excellent description of the car

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police arrest 3 people accused of auto burglary following a brief chase on I-880, followed by a crash and foot chase. One of those arrested suffered minor injuries.
The auto burglaries happened last Friday, Feb. 8, in the Costco parking lot. "The caller reported two males had broken into a parked vehicle and then fled the scene in a black Honda Civic with tinted windows and no license plates," police said in a report. "The suspect vehicle was last seen eastbound on Auto Mall Parkway heading toward Hwy I-880."
Officers headed straight for the freeway and spotted the suspect vehicle soon after in the area of Thornton Avenue. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver took off.

"After a brief pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed into two uninvolved vehicles," police report. "Three occupants fled the Honda Civic on foot and eventually ran eastbound across the freeway."
In addition to arresting the three suspects, officers recovered loot from at least two auto burglaries.
