3 Accused Fremont Bank Robbers Arrested After Police Chase
One person in another vehicle was hurt when it was struck by the fleeing bank robbers, Fremont Police report.
FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police arrested three people following a bank robbery and pursuit on Monday. The escape vehicle was stopped on Interstate Highway 880 by a pursuit intervention technique (PIT) that flipped the car around and brought it to a stop, according to Fremont Police. Two men and one woman were taken into custody. They were all taken to hospitals to be checked out. A person in another vehicle hit by the one being pursued was also taken to a hospital after complaining of pain.
Police received a bank robbery in-progress report at 5:30 p.m. at a Provident Credit Union branch. They were told that two men entered the bank, demanded money, and left with cash. They got away in a vehicle driven by a woman.
After the escape vehicle's description was distributed, a police sergeant spotted it going westbound on Mowry Avenue, and then heading north on I-880. A CHP vehicle immediately joined the pursuit.

The escape vehicle was finally brought to a stop near the Whipple Avenue exit in Hayward. One suspect tried to run away but was caught, while the other two stayed in the vehicle. The names of the three arrested have not been released.
No officers were injured.
