3 Suspects Arrested In Fremont Shooting
2 men were shot outside their own home when they interrupted a vehicle burglary. Police tracked the suspects to another city.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont police arrested three suspects late Sunday night on suspicion of attempted homicide for their alleged involvement in a shooting early that morning, police said Monday.
Late Sunday night police arrested 20-year-old Sugey Garcia, 18-year-old Jennifer Cabrera and 24-year-old Alfredo Carabes on suspicion of attempted homicide, robbery, vehicle theft and using a firearm while
committing a felony.
All three suspects were booked into the Fremont Jail and are being held without bail, police said.

According to police, at 2:43 a.m. Sunday two residents in the 3000 block of Summit Drive heard noises outside their house. The two men went outside and found four people, two men and two women, burglarizing a car in the driveway, police said.
When the two men intervened, one of the burglars shot them. The suspects then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.

Officers responded to the scene and searched the neighborhood, but were unable to locate the suspects.
The two victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and were treated at a trauma center, police said. One of the victims, a 45-year-old man, was released later that morning. The second victim, a 47-year-old man, remains hospitalized, police said.
During an investigation, police collected evidence that led them to a homeless encampment in the area of Grant Street and Almaden Avenue in San Jose, police said.
Officers searched the encampment and detained Garcia, Cabrera and Carabes. All three were taken to the Fremont Police Department and interviewed before they were booked into jail, police said.
Police said the three suspects are scheduled to be arraigned today at 2 p.m. at the Fremont Hall of Justice.
Further investigation revealed that the fourth outstanding suspect fled the scene of the burglary on foot before the shooting occurred.
Detectives are still working to identify and locate him, police said.
