4 Young Fremont Teens Arrested Following Robbery: Police
The suspects range in age from 13 to 15, including the getaway driver, are accused of robbing a USPS Postal Worker.
FREMONT, CA — Four teens aged 13 to 15 were arrested in Fremont last Wednesday following the robbery of a USPS worker, one day after a similar robbery attempt. When police later spotted the getaway vehicle and tried to stop it, the driver took off, initiating a chase. When the driver eventually stopped, all four suspects were taken into custody. They are all from Fremont. The vehicle they were in, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, had been reported stolen.
The robbery happened at approximately 11:30 a.m. when the postal worker was in the area of 3rd Street. Police say that the four suspects stole the mail truck keys before fleeing.
A similar incident occurred the day before in the area of Martha Ave. when two suspects demanded the mail key from the worker but fled in a Jeep Grand Cherokee before getting the key.

The robbery victims were not injured during either incident.
Images of the suspect vehicle were captured on the community camera network leaving the scene of both robberies.

Police say that about an hour after the robbery last Wednesday, members of the Fremont Crime Reduction Unit located the Jeep driving in the area of Mowry Avenue and Fremont Boulevard. That's when the chase began.
There were no reported injuries to the community, officers, or suspects. All four juvenile suspects were booked into Alameda County Juvenile Hall.
One of the suspects, the youngest at 13, was also wanted on felony warrants out of San Francisco.
Police released the following information on the suspects —
- The driver of the suspect vehicle during the pursuit (15-year-old resident of Fremont) was arrested for Penal Code 211 – Robbery, Penal Code 496D(a) – Possession of a stolen vehicle, Vehicle Code 2800.1(a) – Evading a peace officer, and Vehicle Code 2800.2(a) – Evading a peace officer and the pursued vehicle is driven in a willful disregard for the safety of persons.
- The second juvenile suspect (13-year-old resident of Fremont) was arrested for Penal Code 211 – Robbery, Penal Code 664/211 – Attempted robbery, as well as (2) felony warrants out of San Francisco for several charges, including attempted robbery, burglary, use of tear gas, and grand theft.
- The third juvenile suspect (14-year-old resident of Fremont) was arrested for Penal Code 211.
- The fourth juvenile suspect (15-year-old resident of Fremont) was arrested for Penal Code 211.
The United States Postal Inspection Service is involved in the investigation.
