5 Grand Theft Suspects Arrested In Fremont

The women are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a store in the Fremont Hub.

FREMONT, CA — Police in Fremont on Wednesday arrested five women in connection with the theft of several thousand dollars in merchandise from a Marshalls department store.

Officers with the Fremont Police Department responded Wednesday at 8:17 p.m. to 39281 Fremont Hub on a report of several women believed to be stealing from the department store.

Loss prevention officers at the store told police the women were responsible for approximately $35,000 in thefts from various Marshalls stores over the past month.

Responding officers in unmarked patrol units set up surveillance at the store and detained the women once it was established the suspects committed a theft.

Police said 292 items totaling $4,600 were located in the suspects' vehicle.

The five suspects, who range in age from 33 to 43 years old, and come from San Francisco, Oakland and Fresno, were arrested on suspicion of grand theft. The names of the suspects were not immediately available.
