69-Year-Old Man Stabbed, Robbed In Fremont

The attack happened Friday night. A suspect from Oakland has been arrested.

FREMONT, CA — A 69-year-old man was punched in the face, stabbed, and his wallet stolen in Fremont Friday night. Police arrested 36-year-old David Carrasquillo of Oakland a short time after the attack on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, elder abuse, possession of burglary tools, and possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Police report a second suspect has not been caught.

The robbery happened at Osgood Road and Prune Avenue at 9:30 p.m. The victim described two attackers to police who responded to a call for help. In a release, police say, "Officers flooded the area and located a similar subject running in the parking lot of BART Warm Springs. The subject was detained and positively identified by the victim."

Police say the suspect had evidence on him that linked him to the stabbing and robbery.
