Academic Enrichment Courses at Parkmont Elementary

Amazing Artists: Making Art with Many Materials
Is your child a mini-Monet, or a pint-sized Picasso?
This class gives children ample opportunity to express their inner artist through a variety of mediums. Along the way they will learn how to use shapes, textures, and color to bring their designs to life as well as gain confidence in their creative abilities.

GRADES 4-6
Art classes will be held on Tuesdays.

WRITING WONDERS
Does your child have a vibrant imagination and love story-telling? This unique course offers children the opportunity to engage in a variety of word games and writing exercises designed to awaken their creative passions and instill confidence in their ability to generate ideas for the page. During the eight-week program, students will learn writing is a vital and powerful means for self-expression. They’ll learn writing is fun, and something they CAN do. A child who likes to write will write more, and in turn, will improve their writing skills. This class is designed to help both the child who already loves to write and the one who struggles to connect their ideas to the written word.

LOCATION
All workshops will be held at Parkmont Elementary located at 2601 Parkside Drive, Fremont, CA‎ 94536.

REGISTRATION & FEES
Parkmont Elementary After School registration is conveniently located online at www.ohloneforkids.com. Course fees are $105 per class, in addition to a $5 materials fee per class for Writing Wonders, and $105 per class, in addition to $20 materials fee per class for Art. Please register at least 3 days before the start date of class.

EXPECTATIONS & SUPERVISION
• Students are expected to behave in a manner that is courteous and appropriate for an enrichment learning environment.
• Some light homework may be expected once per week. This homework is designed to enrich through observation and creation and should not demand more than 15-30 minutes of time.
• Children will only be fully supervised during their scheduled class times.
• Children must be picked up from classrooms as soon as class ends. Ohlone for Kids reserves to right to cancel enrollments for habitual late pick-ups.

INSTRUCTORS
Ohlone for Kids thoroughly vets our instructors. All have college degrees (many hold advanced degrees), expertise in their field and experience working with and instructing children. Additionally, all instructors must complete a full background check and TB test.
