Alameda County Coronavirus Cases Approach 300
The death toll remains unchanged, at 7.

ALAMEDA, CA — Confirmed coronavirus cases in Alameda County are approaching 300, the Alameda County Public Health Department reported Tuesday. There are 294 cases, an increase of 30 since yesterday, and seven deaths. The figures do not include Berkeley, which has its own health department.
Alameda County and Berkeley joined the counties of Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara in extending the length of the stay-at-home order, as well as expanding it. New provisions include:
- Prohibiting the use of playgrounds, dog parks, public picnic areas, and similar recreational areas
- Closure of all golf courses, tennis and basketball courts, pools, and rock walls
- Most construction—residential and commercial—is prohibited
