American High Hosting Special Olympics Soccer Games

Announcement submitted by New Haven Unified School District:

New Haven Unified students in moderate/severe special education classes will join students from Newark Unified and Fremont Unified in the first Special Olympics event of the year.

Students will participate in soccer games as part of the Special Olympics School Partnership Program. The Special Olympics Partnership Program is a grant given to the Mission Valley SELPA which includes New Haven, Fremont and Newark school districts.

“Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt” is the Special Olympics motto. Special thanks to our Special Olympics Coordinator, Bria Rosenthal and all the teachers who coached their students in basketball, as well as sportsmanship.

All parents, relatives and community members are invited to come out and cheer on our students!
Secondary Student’s Soccer Event on Nov. 13 at American High School in FUSD. Opening ceremony is at 9:15 a.m.
