FREMONT, CA — A Fremont police helicopter crew helped rescue a 7-year-old child who suffered a heat-related medical emergency near the summit of Mission Peak early August, officials announced Thursday.
On Aug. 9, the police helicopter crew responded to Mission Peak after the child became ill near the summit.
Working with Fremont Fire, the helicopter crew quickly flew a paramedic to the child and assisted with her extraction and transport to a waiting ambulance.
Medical personnel credited the rapid response as critical to the child's care, according to Fremont police.
The child has since made a full recovery.
