FREMONT, CA — An 88-year-old man died after crashing his vehicle into a building in Fremont on Saturday.
The crash happened at Niles Boulevard and Cinematic Common at about 12:12 p.m., according to the Fremont Police Department.
The cause of the wreck was under investigation on Saturday, but police said alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
The driver was unresponsive when police and paramedics arrived. He died from his injuries after being taken to a hospital.
Nobody else was in the vehicle and no bystanders were injured, police said.
Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Fremont Police Department.
It marked the ninth fatal traffic collision in the city in 2026.
