Armed Resident Kills Home Invasion Suspect: Police
Fremont Police say that the target of an attempted home invasion robbery shot and killed a suspect armed with a gun.
FREMONT, CA — A man shot and killed at an apartment complex in Fremont Wednesday night was armed with a gun, and was attempting a home invasion robbery when killed, police now say.
"Based on evidence and initial statements, we can share that the decedent and his associates attempted a home invasion robbery at the apartment where the shooting occurred," police said in a written statement. "The decedent was armed with a firearm during the commission of this crime. He and an unknown number of additional suspects attempted to force their way into the unit and an adult male resident discharged his own firearm at the group, killing one.
"We also believe that the group of home invasion suspects shot at the resident during the incident."
