Authorites ID E-Bike Rider Killed In Fremont Crash
The 47-year-old Fremont resident was biking when he and a driver collided near a freeway onramp, according to police.
FREMONT, CA — A 47-year-old electric bicycle rider who died after colliding with a car in Fremont over the weekend has been identified by authorities.
The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau on Tuesday identified the e-bike rider as Sostan Samuel Jacks II of Fremont.
Jacks was riding his bicycle near Auto Mall Parkway and Grimmer Boulevard on Saturday afternoon when the crash happened, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The 47-year-old was approaching the I-880 onramp when he and a driver in the designated right-turn lane for the freeway collided, police said.
Jacks suffered head trauma in the crash and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.

The driver was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene, police said, adding that they cooperated with the investigation.
This was Fremont's sixth traffic death, police said.
