Baby Squirrel Rescued By Mama: Photos
When a baby squirrel fell out of its nest, the mama squirrel came to its rescue. See the whole heartwarming series of photos!

FREMONT, CA — A baby squirrel was rescued from a precarious situation late last month, and Gregory J. Brown was on hand to document the whole heartwarming scene.

A baby fox tree squirrel fell from a tree at Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area.

The baby was clearly still alive after the fall, as it raised its head.

Within a few minutes, the mama squirrel came to check on her baby.

The mama assessed the situation.

And then gently picked up the baby.

Carrying the baby in her mouth, she scampered back to the tree.

She took the baby squirrel up the tree to return it to her nest.
Brown said that he has been visiting Quarry Lakes for about 15 years and, as a photographer, has never left empty-handed, but he considers this series of photos "truly awesome!"
