Bald Eagles At Quarry Lakes: Photos
The photographer, Gregory J. Brown, captured photos of both adult and juvenile bald eagles.
FREMONT, CA — If you've never seen a bald eagle in the wild, you're in the right place — they are frequently spotted by Fremont residents. Gregory J. Brown shared a trio of photos that he snapped at Quarry Lakes Regional Park.
According to Brown, the photos are of "Two in flight showing mature (adult) birds and one perched in a tree of a juvenile (about 1 1/2 years old) eaglet."
The Bald Eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782. Their favorite food is fish caught from lakes, streams or the Bay, so Quarry Lakes is a perfect hunting ground for the birds. They are also known for snatching fish caught by other birds.
