Burglars Arrested After Breaking Into Fremont Business, Drilling Into Safes: Police

FREMONT, CA — Two suspected burglars were arrested last month after trying to crack open mutliple safes at a business in Fremont and then crashed into a center median while trying to evade officers, police said.

The suspects broke into a commercial building along Mission Boulevard and tried to drill into the business's safes on Monday, Sept. 21, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Officers arrived at the scene, prompting the suspects to get in a car and drive off, police said.

But the driver of the car crashed into a center divider, prompting the suspects to get out and run away, police said.

After a short chase, officers took one suspect into custody in connection with the burglary. Police say they found the second suspect hiding in a wooded area.

Police did not release the suspects' identities.
