Vote for your Local Future Conservationist: Fremont’s Carl Competes for Jr. Ranger

Event Details
I wanted to share a timely and uplifting local story idea about my 5-year-old son, Carl, who is currently competing in Colossal’s Jr. Ranger competition—a nationwide campaign supporting the National Wildlife Federation.
Right now, Carl is in 4th place nationwide, and the competition includes weekly elimination rounds leading up to the June 4th finale—so community support is especially critical in the coming weeks.
Carl’s journey has been more than just a competition—it’s sparked a genuine passion for wildlife conservation. He’s become a daily advocate for recycling, protecting habitats, and learning about wildlife and nature. Through this experience, our family has learned firsthand how even young children can make a meaningful impact on the environment.
If Carl wins, he’ll receive a $20,000 honorarium, be featured in Ranger Rick Magazine, and go on a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife adventure to meet Jeff Corwin.
