The City of Fremont needs your help! The deadline to respond to the 2020 Census is September 30, 2020. A complete and accurate count is critical for the Fremont community because Census data helps inform federal funding for hospitals, fire departments, schools, and roads for the next 10 years. The Census also determines the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is used to draw congressional and state legislative districts.

U.S. Census Bureau enumerators are currently visiting non-responding addresses to help households complete their Census. All enumerators will be wearing a valid Census ID badge, face mask, and will not ask you for any financial information or your social security number. Self-response is still possible online and over the phone until September 30.
Social Media Contest
The City is continuing to perform outreach that encourages residents to complete their Census. The City is administering a social media contest to help spread awareness and to encourage participants to inform their friends, family, and neighbors on the importance of completing the Census. The contest asks participants to post a graphic and related text that answers one of the questions below:

Participants should post their graphics using the hashtags #FremontCounts and #2020 Census in the caption.
The contest will be posted and open to participants on the following City of Fremont social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Participants under the age of 18 must have parent or guardian’s consent. The deadline to submit an entry is September 22, 2020.
