Chabot Cross Country Shakes Off Shoe Mishap At Conference Meet
After refitting shoe in race, Gladiators' Lucas Vigil passes 25 runners to take seventh

The Chabot men's cross country team had a big run from “Shoeless” Lucas Vigil at the Oct. 26 Coast Conference Championships at the dreaded Crystal Springs Cross Country Course.
While the Gladiators placed three men in the top seven, Vigil had a huge breakthrough performance after losing his shoe at the mile mark. After the mishap, Vigil took a second or two to refit his own shoe and then ran down more than 25 people for a stellar seventh-place finish and an All-Conference award.
Freshman Reece Proctor paced the Gladiators taking third place in a time of 22 minutes, .7 seconds. Chabot sophomore Sebastian Andersson was fourth in 22:29.1. Vigil was timed in 23:06.7. Jahdai Bolds was 20th (25:06.5)
