City Of Fremont Summer Camp Registration Is Now Open

NEW Camp Pods – No more than 12 campers will be in a camp group (social bubble) and they will remain together for 3 weeks

The Recreation Services Division has been working diligently with cities in Alameda County, the Alameda County Public Health Department, and industry professionals to revise our entire 2020 Summer Camp Program. On June 12, the Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) released detailed guidelines to operate summer camps in our county. For 2020, the City of Fremont will offer a 7-week program which will include two 3-week sessions and a 1-week session. Camps will be offered for children ages 5 to 12 years old. Camp session titles include: Golf, Art Explorers, Basketball, Play-Well TEKnologies, Code for Fun, Sports Jams, Mad Science, Stage Stars, Tennis, Sunnyside, and Aqua Camp.

The following changes have been implemented at the City of Fremont to meet the Alameda County Public Health Department Summer Camp guidelines:

  • NEW Camp Pods – No more than 12 campers will be in a camp group (social bubble) and they will remain together for 3 weeks
  • Mandatory Health Screenings – All campers and staff will be screened each morning
  • Expanded Outdoor Activities – Camp check-in and play through the day will occur outdoors to allow for more fresh air
  • Additional Cleaning & Sanitizing Procedures – Cleaning and sanitizing will occur throughout the day and handwashing will be required
  • Expanded Staff Safety Training – Beyond our standard annual training all camp staff will attend COVID-19 Safety Training
  • Development of a Summer COVID-19 Safety Plan – This plan outlines how each camp will operate and follows all industry and Alameda County Public Health Department guidelines

Summer camps are tradition for many children. Interaction with other children, engaging in outdoor play, and having the experience of summer camp is a fond memory for many. The safety of our campers and staff is our highest priority and the City of Fremont will strive every day to earn the trust and loyalty of Fremont families as the premier summer camp provider.
