Manisha Pathak Launches Campaign for Fremont City Council District 4

FREMONT, Calif. - Manisha Pathak has officially launched her campaign for the Fremont City Council District 4 seat, bringing nearly two decades of technology experience, years of community service, and a strong commitment to practical, people-centered local leadership.

A longtime Fremont resident, Pathak has lived in the Mission San Jose and South Fremont area for more than 20 years and raised her family in the community. She currently serves the City of Fremont as a Senior Peer Counselor and has been actively involved in mental health support, neighborhood engagement, nonprofit leadership, cultural programs, and services benefiting local families.

Pathak is also the founder of a Fremont-based nonprofit that supports community connection, cultural education, and educational opportunities for underprivileged girls. Professionally, she brings approximately 20 years of experience in the Silicon Valley technology industry, where she has worked with engineering, product, operations, and executive teams to solve complex problems and improve organizational performance. Her early professional experience also included an internship with NASA.

“My family and I have called Fremont home for more than two decades,” Pathak said. “I am running because I want to give back to the city that has given us so much. Fremont deserves thoughtful, accessible, and collaborative leadership that listens to residents and focuses on practical solutions.”

Pathak’s campaign will focus on three principal priorities: developing a humane and thoughtful response to homelessness, strengthening public safety through prevention and partnerships and advancing practical and locally focused environmental sustainability.

Her public safety approach emphasizes stronger collaboration among residents, schools, law enforcement, first responders, mental health professionals, and neighborhood organizations. She also supports traffic safety improvements, emergency preparedness, Neighborhood Watch programs, and preventive services that address community concerns before they become crises.

On environmental issues, Pathak supports responsible solutions that protect Fremont’s natural resources while recognizing the everyday needs of residents and local businesses. Her approach includes expanding green spaces, improving neighborhood cleanliness, encouraging sustainable development, and helping households reduce their individual carbon footprints through practical measures.

Pathak also believes Fremont must address homelessness with compassion, accountability, and coordination. She supports connecting unhoused residents with mental health services, addiction treatment, temporary and supportive housing resources, employment assistance, and other programs that can help people achieve long-term stability.

“My campaign is about bringing people together,” Pathak said. “Our residents may have different backgrounds and perspectives, but we share a common interest in safe neighborhoods, strong families, responsible growth, and a city government that is responsive to the people it serves.”

Pathak plans to meet with residents, neighborhood leaders, educators, small-business owners, public-safety professionals, environmental advocates, and community organizations throughout the campaign. She is committed to running an inclusive campaign that welcomes ideas and participation from residents across District 4.

About Manisha Pathak

Manisha Pathak is a longtime Fremont resident, technology professional, nonprofit founder, community volunteer, educator, and Senior Peer Counselor with the City of Fremont. She currently serves on the Fremont Human Relations Commission, where she contributes to efforts that promote inclusion, equity, civic engagement, and community well-being. She also teaches Indian classical music, an art form she is committed to preserving and passing on to future generations so its rich cultural legacy can continue.
