Coronavirus In Fremont: 64 Local Cases Confirmed

FREMONT, CA — There have been 64 cases of confirmed coronavirus in Fremont, the Alameda County Public Health Department reported on Thursday. The total cases in Alameda County rose to 713, while deaths increased to 17.

The City of Fremont began closing several parking lots at Central Park where popular Lake Elizabeth is located on Thursday, in a effort to keep people from driving into the area.

The City of Berkeley, which has its own health department, reported its first coronavirus death Thursday.

The number of coronavirus deaths on Thursday at 2 p.m.:

This week the county health department unveiled its new COVID-19 dashboard with information about patient gender, age, city, deaths and more.

Contra Costa County also recently built out its coronavirus dashboard to include city-level data, the number of new COVID-19 cases, the total number of cases, the number of deaths related to the virus, the number of patients hospitalized and the total number of tests administered.

Good news: a group of high school students is raising money to purchase personal protective equipment (PPEs) for Bay Area hospitals, including a junior at Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland.
