Dashcam Video Captures Deadly Pedestrian Crash, Police Say

A small vehicle ran over a man lying in the road and kept going. The victim's name has been released.

FREMONT, CA — Dashcam video captured a deadly crash Monday night, when a man was run over by a vehicle and the driver kept going. Police have not released the video to the public. No arrests have been announced.

The collision happened in the area of Lowry Avenue and Falcon Drive.

A witness driving on the other side of the road stopped and called 911, and then tried to give life-saving aid to the man. He died before he could be taken to a hospital.

The victim has been identified as 49-year-old David Sanchez, a local transient.

Late Tuesday, police released a photo of the vehicle involved, described as a 2005-2008 Silver Toyota Corolla.

Investigators are seeking other video of the incident, which happened at 8:30 p.m.
