E-Bike Rider Killed In Fremont Crash: Police
This was the sixth person killed in a crash in Fremont this year.
FREMONT, CA — Police say they're investigating a crash that left an electric bicycle rider dead in Fremont over the weekend.
A driver was traveling westbound on Auto Mall Parkway in the designated right-turn lane for the northbound I-880 onramp around 4:34 p.m. when it collided with an e-bike rider traveling eastbound in a westbound bicycle lane at the onramp entrance, according to the Fremont Police Department.
The bicyclist, who suffered head trauma in the crash, was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

He was only identified as an adult male as the Alameda County Coroner's Office works to notify his next of kin of his death.
The driver was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene, police said, adding that they cooperated with the investigation.

This was Fremont's sixth traffic death, police said.
