Elderly Woman in Crosswalk Hit By Car in Fremont

The driver called police and remained at the scene after the accident.

FREMONT, CA — An elderly woman was struck and injured while she was in a crosswalk in Fremont on Tuesday morning, according to police.

At about 8 a.m., police received a call from a motorist who reported having just run into the woman near Gomes Elementary School on Lemos Lane.

The car was traveling at about 20 mph at the time and the woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
