Fire Briefly Threatened Homes On Fremont-Union City Border

Firefighters from both cities responded to put out the flames.

FREMONT, CA — A grass fire broke along the train tracks on the Fremont and Union City border Tuesday afternoon. Firefighters from both Fremont and Alameda County responded and worked together to get the flames out.

Although it only burned about an acre, the fire threatened homes for a short time, near the train tracks at Sedge Street in Fremont, and Hanford Street in Union City.

No injuries were reported, and no homes were damaged.
