Fremont Bank Refuses To Cash Fraudulent Check
Police arrested two men following the failed attempt.

FREMONT, CA — Two men in their 50s and 60s have been arrested in Fremont following a failed attempt to cash a fraudulent check at a bank.
Officers responded at 4:08 p.m. Tuesday to the 5100 block of Mowry Avenue to a report of a man inside a bank trying to cash a fraudulent check.
Officers arrived at the scene as the suspect, identified as a 65-year-old man, was leaving the bank with another man.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody and arrested on an outstanding warrant and on suspicion of cashing a forged check.
His companion, identified as a 51-year-old man from San Francisco, tried to flee from officers, but he was quickly apprehended, police said.

He was arrested on an outstanding warrant, possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia, resisting, providing false identification to police and on a parole violation.
