Fremont City Council to Interview Candidates for Vacancy

A Fremont City Council Special Meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, January 10 to conduct the interviews. The public is invited to attend.

From the City of Fremont: On December 13, 2016, the Fremont City Council announced its plan to appoint one person to fill the City Council seat that became vacant when Lily Mei was elected to serve as Mayor for the City of Fremont. An open call for applications to fill the vacancy was held December 14, 2016 – December 22, 2016. Twenty-seven people submitted applications for consideration.

At the January 3, 2017 Fremont City Council meeting, the Council voted on its top candidates to interview for appointment. To determine whom to interview, the Council agreed that each Councilmember would select five candidates that they wished to interview, and that any candidate receiving two or more votes from the Council would be invited to an interview.

This process resulted in the following eight candidates being invited back for an interview:

A Fremont City Council Special Meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 5 p.m. to conduct the interviews. The meeting and interviews will be held at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, located at 3300 Capitol Avenue, Building A. The public is invited to attend.
