Fremont High School Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Police say they recovered the weapon used in the robbery.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police officers arrested a 15-year-old teen, accused of armed robbery on the campus of Irvington High School on Thursday of last week. The arrest was made Wednesday morning in the 4600 block of Norwood Terrace in the Irvington district.

Police also recovered what they believe was the weapon used in the crime , described as a replica gun.

The boy is not a current student in the Fremont Unified School District. His name is being withheld because of his age.

The robbery happened Jan. 12 just after 8 p.m. According to police, "An adult male and male juvenile were standing behind the gym when they were robbed by a male suspect. The suspect, described as a male juvenile, initially walked past the two and then turned around and displayed a weapon and demanded their wallets." The adult handed over his wallet.

Police and a K9 searched the area until almost 10 p.m., but the suspect wasn't found. The stolen wallet was recovered on campus.

"Officers stayed with the students who were at their club meetings and basketball team practice until parents arrived," police report.
