Fremont Home Burglarized As Residents Slept

Police say the suspect broke into the home around 2 a.m. and fled when the wife awoke.

FREMONT, CA - A Fremont couple woke up early Monday morning to find a burglar in their home, according to police.

The burglary was reported at 4:19 a.m. The caller said that his wife had woken up around 2 a.m. to find a strange man in their house, who immediately fled after being confronted by the woman, police said.

An undisclosed amount of currency was stolen in the burglary, which was reported two hours later, according to police.

The suspect was described as a white man wearing a black rain jacket, black sweatpants and gloves. He was roughly 6 feet 2 inches tall and 250 pounds.

The location of Monday morning's burglary was not disclosed by police.
