Fremont Man Who Fatally Shot Longtime Wife Sent To Senior Home: Report

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A Fremont man who police say shot his longtime wife has been sent to a senior living facility in Sacramento County, according to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle.
Authorities say Richard Hocking, 93, shot and killed his wife, Patty Hocking, at a strip mall parking lot in Fremont back in January before turning himself in to police.
When officers arrived, they found his wife dead in the front passenger seat of their car, authorities said.

Hocking, who was charged with murder, was held in jail since his arrest and was released to the senior living facility on Friday, according to the report.
His age was cited in court records as a role in his release, according to the report.

Hocking previously told investigators that he had planned to kill his wife for over a month due to her continuing health problems.
The 93-year-old is expected to attend future hearings if his health permits, according to the report.
