Fremont Murder Suspect Tracked To Colorado, Arrested
A Colorado SWAT team arrested the accused man at a home in Lakewood.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police detectives doggedly tracked a murder suspect from California to Colorado, where he was arrested earlier this month. The Alameda District Attorney's Office has charged 27-year-old Kamalpreet Singh of Fremont with one count of murder with a gun enhancement.
On April 8, Singh is accused of killing 32-year-old Anthony Garza in the parking lot of the Lucky’s Supermarket on Mowry Avenue. His family has been notified that an arrest has been made.
Singh was identified as a possible suspect shortly after the shooting, and police got an arrest warrant based on evidence they gathered in the case.

Police continued to gather leads, and developed evidence that he was hiding in Colorado.
According to a police statement, "A team of undercover detectives from the Fremont Police Department’s Special Operations Division immediately traveled to Colorado where they met with local agencies for assistance. On Monday, September 7, 2020, Fremont detectives located the suspect at a residence in Lakewood, Colorado."

The Lakewood Police Department's SWAT team took him into custody. Fremont homicide detectives traveled to Lakewood where they interviewed the suspect. He remains in jail in Colorado.
Detectives are working with Colorado authorities on the extradition of Singh to face charges here.
