Fremont Open For Business, Police Say

Both Pacific Commons and The Hub are open after police blocked entrances Sunday night.

FREMONT, CA — The Fremont Police Department reports on Monday that both Pacific Commons and the Fremont Hub shopping centers are open.

The police department says that "extra police staffing will remain in place for the foreseeable future."

Sunday evening, the police department sent a community alert that read, "Due to civil unrest throughout the region and shopping centers being targeted by looters, access to Pacific Commons and the Fremont HUB is CLOSED. We are asking all community members to please stay home.‬"

Residents have been warning the police department about information circulating on social media. "We are aware of several peaceful marches and protests being planned in Fremont," police say.
