Fremont Police Accepting Applications for Teen Police Explorer Program
Deadline to apply is Feb. 13.

The Fremont Police Department is now accepting applications for its teen Explorer program, police said. The department is accepting applications until Feb. 13, but may close the application period earlier if it receives a sufficient number of applications, police said.
The program is a way for teenagers to have safe fun, learn more about law enforcement and earn community service hours. Teenagers donate five to 20 hours each month and participate in departmental activities such as ride-alongs, building tours, traffic control and special events. New explorers must attend a one-week academy in Southern California during their first year in the program. The academy is usually in late July or early August.
Teens 14 to 18 years old interested in learning more about the program or a career in law enforcement can find information on the Fremont Police Department’s website at www.fremontpolice.org/Explorers.
