Fremont Police Arrest Suspected Thieves Targeting Demolition Site

Officers found more stolen items, including a motorcycle, at one of the suspects' homes, police said.

FREMONT, CA — Two people were arrested on suspicion of stealing several materials from a demolition site in Fremont, police said.

At least two people entered the demolition site along Walnut Avenue on Sunday, March 22, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Once inside, they stripped copper from the site and took other construction materials, police said.

Police say this was one of several reports the department has received recently of someone stealing from that site.

On Tuesday, March 22, officers found the suspects' vehicle near a grocery store and pulled them over, police said.

Inside the car, officers found several stolen materials from the demolition site, along with a large amount of drugs and items used to sell narcotics, police said.

Both suspects were taken into custody in connection with the theft and drugs. Officers later searched one of the suspects' homes and found more stolen items, including a motorcycle, drugs and a gun with the serial number completely scratched off, police said.

The suspects' identities were not publicly revealed.
