Fremont Police Issue Warning About Spoofed Calls
"They are pretending to be calling from the Fremont Police Department Non-Emergency Line."
FREMONT, CA — The Fremont Police Department is warning residents that scammers are spoofing their phone number — it shows up as the police department on Caller ID.
The spoofed phone number is 510-790-6800.
"Our officers will never call from the non-emergency line to request for information or to solicit money," the police department said in a warning to the community. "If you receive such a call, hang up! If you believe you were a victim of a crime, please file a police report."
