Fremont Police Use Tasers to Stop Suspect
He was booked for obstructing a police officer, attempting to remove an officer's gun, and the charges that brought cops in the first place

FREMONT, CA — A man was arrested Tuesday morning in Fremont after allegedly vandalizing electrical wires with stolen shears, according to police.
Police said officers responded to Fremont Boulevard and Capitol Avenue at 8:22 a.m. on reports of a man yielding shears cutting wires in an electrical box.
Officers were able to locate a man matching the description sitting on the sidewalk in front of a Goodyear Tire store.

Attempts to speak with the man were unsuccessful, and police said he quickly became verbally aggressive towards officers.
According to police, officers attempted to detain the man, however he allegedly resisted, shoved an officer into a fence and attempted to grab another officers handgun and collapsible baton.

Police said Tasers were deployed to assist in arresting the 34-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released. It was discovered the shears used in the incident had been taken during a robbery and the damage to the wires was estimated at $1,000.
The man was booked on suspicion of robbery, vandalism, obstructing a police officer, attempting to remove an officer's gun and a probation violation.
