Fremont Police Warn Public About Phone Scam

Callers claim to be seeking money for burn victims but the fire department is not asking for donations.

FREMONT, CA - The Fremont police department is alerting residents of telemarketing scams seeking monetary donations for burn victims.

Police said the scammers are calling and claming to be from the Fremont Firefighter and Paramedic Association and seeking money.

The City of Fremont, the Fremont Fire Department and the Fremont Firefighters Local 1689 Labor Union want the public to know that they do not support charitable causes through telemarketing and or door-to-door campaigns.
