Fremont School Makes U.S. News Rankings 2016 Best High Schools
Solidly ranked in the Top 10 for California, Mission San Jose High School was praised for its participation rate in AP courses.
FREMONT, CA - Mission San Jose High in Fremont is ranked the 6th best high school in California by the prestigious US News and World Reports 2016 rankings.
The school was singled out because "Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Mission San Jose High is 89 percent. The student body makeup is 52 percent male and 48 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 93 percent. Mission San Jose High is 1 of 8 high schools in the Fremont Unified."
Irvington High earned the 91 slot, while American High came in at 129. The other schools were not ranked.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."
The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.
