Fremont Star Student: Jasmehar Won Poetry Award

FREMONT, CA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

How do you know the star local student? Parent

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized? Jasmehar is very talented student. Apart from doing well in school, she has earned several awards and accolades. A red belt in karate, Jasmehar also plays volleyball and intends to join the school team in middle school. She won the Reflections award for 2022-2023 for her poetry. She received National Honorable mention given to the top 50% of participants in the Noetic Math contest she participated in recently. Jasmehar is a Girl Scout junior and actively participates in various Girl Scouts activities. She also likes to stay close to her Indian culture. She is part of the Bhangra Empire team. Bhangra is a traditional dance form. Additionally she plays harmonium (piano like Indian instrument) and sings along with it. Jasmehar also likes to give back to her school and community. She volunteers every week in her school's Safety Patrol program.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student? Jasmehar is a passionate student who endeavors to do well in her school and all her activities but loves to help and give back to her community when possible.
