Fremont Whole Foods Briefly Shut Down By Health Department

FREMONT, CA — The Whole Foods Market at 3111 Mowry Ave. in Fremont was temporarily shut down by the Alameda County Health Department after an inspection Thursday but reopened Friday morning.

Whole Foods tells Patch that the store had a minor plumbing issue with a restroom and that all food purchased from the store, including prepared food, is safe.

The restroom was repaired, and the store opened at 9:30 a.m. Friday, a store representative told Patch. The story typically opens at 8 a.m.

The health department confirmed to Patch that the store's Health Permit was temporarily suspended. Further details were not immediately available from the inspector who closed the store.
