Fremont's Tesla Factory Named Top 10 Story Of The Decade

The list of top Bay Area stories of the 2010s was compiled by the Bay Area news group.

FREMONT, CA — When compiling the list of the top stories of the 2010s, the Bay Area news group focused on several themes that impacted everyone including the number one story, housing prices; PG&E's bankruptcy at number two; the drought was number four; and multiple sports championships by the Giants and Warriors at number seven.

But the number 10 slot belongs to Fremont alone: 10) Tesla opens in Fremont.

The news agency notes that the auto assembly plant sparked the electric car revolution, and created 10,000 new jobs. "The Tesla Model 3 is the third best-selling car in California this year, behind only the Honda Civic and Toyota Camry," Bay Area news group notes, and every single one of them is made right here in Fremont.
